Carriere's goals lift Carleton Place Midget AAA to 5-0 victory over Pembroke Midget AAA

The Carleton Place Midget AAA Canadians relied on the scoring touch of Oliver Carriere, who netted two goals, to beat the Pembroke Midget AAA Lumber Kings, 5-0.

Carriere scored at 3:16 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Carleton Place Midget AAA and again while on the power play 10:40 into the second to make the score 2-0 Carleton Place Midget AAA.

Carleton Place Midget AAA's penalty kill excelled, as the Canadians gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

Carleton Place Midget AAA stifled Pembroke Midget AAA's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Carleton Place Midget AAA also got points from Spencer Marshall, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Carleton Place Midget AAA also had goals scored by Anthony Douchant and Ryan Shaw, who each put in one. More assists for Carleton Place Midget AAA came via Reece Bolton, Skylar Quartermain, and Scott Gervais, who each chipped in one and Liam Markhauser and Ryan Bangs, who contributed two each.

The Lumber Kings did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Pembroke Midget AAA puts an average of 2.5 pucks into the net per game. The Lumber Kings struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 16 penalty minutes for six opposing power plays.

Michael Leach rejected 17 shots on goal for the Canadians. Carleton Place Midget AAA ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. The Canadians ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Logan Buchanan was ejected from the game. Jake Smith made 23 saves for Pembroke Midget AAA on 28 shots.
