Brockville Midget AAA rips OHA U18 Midget AAA, 5-2

The Brockville Midget AAA Braves had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-2 win over the OHA U18 Midget AAA OHA U17.

Brockville Midget AAA was led by Jacob Shankar, who had one goal and one assist. Shankar scored 7:49 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Brockville Midget AAA. Cameron Hebert picked up the assist.

The Braves kept OHA U18 Midget AAA's goalie busy throughout the game, and Francis Asselin made 32 saves on 37 shots. Brockville Midget AAA's goal total was higher than its season average. The Braves average 2.7 goals per game. Brockville Midget AAA's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Braves finished with 16 penalty minutes.

Brockville Midget AAA also got points from Adam VanEttinger, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Colin Marshall, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Sutton Allard, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Brockville Midget AAA also got a goal from Mark Morrison as well. In addition, Brockville Midget AAA received assists from Griffin Patterson, Rocco Barresi, and Ben Davy, who contributed one each.

Brockville Midget AAA's defense shut down the OHA U17's forwards for much of the game, and OHA U18 Midget AAA got off only two shots during the contest.

The OHA U17 were helped by Zach Letto, who had one goal. Letto scored 4:51 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Brockville Midget AAA. Julien Allard also scored for OHA U18 Midget AAA. More assists for OHA U18 Midget AAA came via Adam Porter and Justin Cheng, who each chipped in one.

The Braves registered zero goals on one power play opportunities. OHA U18 Midget AAA incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
