Nepean Midget AAA outlasts Ottawa Midget AAA, 4-3

The Nepean Midget AAA Raiders gutted out a close 4-3 win against the Ottawa Midget AAA Senators.

Nepean Midget AAA gained the winning advantage on a goal by Ryan Kaufman 19:51 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

The Raiders got the win thanks to a great game by Paul Larabie, who had two goals and two assists. Larabie scored the first of his two goals at 1:45 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Ethan Rendell-Watson picked up the assist. Larabie's next tally made the score 3-3 with 2:08 left in the third period. Matt Arial assisted on the tally.

Nepean Midget AAA also got points from Rendell-Watson, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Nepean Midget AAA came via Owen Ledwell and Aidan Harris, who each chipped in one.

Ottawa Midget AAA stifled Nepean Midget AAA's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

The Senators were helped by Marcus Stepto, who had one goal. Stepto scored 10:42 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Ottawa Midget AAA. Adrien Bisson picked up the assist. Ottawa Midget AAA additionally got points from Jacob Lamont, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Nicholas Raponi de Roia, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Ottawa Midget AAA received assists from Danny Johnson, who had one.

The Raiders' Marshall Frappier stopped 20 shots out of the 23 that he faced. Nepean Midget AAA ended with no penalties and went 0-for-3 on the power play. Nicolas Rousseau rejected 24 shots on goal for Ottawa Midget AAA. The Senators incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors and had no power play opportunities.
