Matthew Bidin gave the Smiths Falls Midget AAA Bears a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Kanata Midget AAA Lasers when he scored 6:13 into the extra period.

Although Smiths Falls Midget AAA was up by as many as three goals in the second period, Kanata Midget AAA kept the game interesting by staging a comeback that ultimately fell short. The Lasers got to within 3-2 on a goal by Bennett Stockdale at 5:12 in the third period.

In the losing effort, Kanata Midget AAA was led by Stockdale, who racked up two goals. Stockdale scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 9:50 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Smiths Falls Midget AAA. The Lasers had taken the advantage when the Bears' Nathaniel Watson got sent off for hooking. Kyle Lefebvre picked up the assist. Stockdale's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Smiths Falls Midget AAA with 14:48 left in the third period. Luca Nocita provided the assist.

Smiths Falls Midget AAA was helped by Mackenzie Mercier, who registered one goal. Mercier scored 53 seconds into overtime to make the score 4-2 Smiths Falls Midget AAA. Sebastien Semerdjiev assisted on the tally. Smiths Falls Midget AAA also got points from Blake Kettyle, who also finished with one goal and one assist. In addition, Smiths Falls Midget AAA received assists from Ethan Coltart, who had one and Brock Boisclair, who had two.

Kanata Midget AAA forced the Bears goalie Kyle Renaud to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

More assists for Kanata Midget AAA came via Tyler Orban and Brian Bygrave, who each chipped in one.

Renaud recorded 29 saves for Smiths Falls Midget AAA. The Bears incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Lasers' Jean-Philippe Tourigny stopped 13 shots out of the 16 that he faced. Kanata Midget AAA incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
