Pembroke Midget AAA squeaks by Brockville Midget AAA, 5-3

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Pembroke Midget AAA Lumber Kings escaped with a 5-3 victory over the Brockville Midget AAA Braves.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Noah Maika secured the win for Pembroke Midget AAA with a goal in the third period.

The Lumber Kings were sparked by Payton Jardine, who tallied one goal and one assist. Jardine scored 6:16 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Pembroke Midget AAA. Tyler Dyke assisted on the tally.

In a losing effort, Brockville Midget AAA was led by Serron Noel, who registered two goals. Noel scored the first of his two goals short handed at 2:53 into the second period to make the score 1-1. The Braves were on a disadvantage when Adam VanEttinger went off the ice for tripping. Griffin Patterson picked up the assist. Noel's next tally short handed made the score 2-2 with 7:43 left in the second period. Jake Hutton provided the assist.

Pembroke Midget AAA surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the Lumber Kings average 2.5 goals per contest.

Pembroke Midget AAA also got points from Patrick Kyte, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Pembroke Midget AAA included Andre Simard and Reid Barber, who each put in one. More assists for Pembroke Midget AAA came via Kiefer Levasseur and Lawson Leclaire, who each chipped in one.

Brockville Midget AAA also had goals scored by Colin Marshall and Mark Morrison, who scored one goal each. In addition, Brockville Midget AAA received assists from Brett Lannin and Sutton Allard, who contributed one each.

Jake Smith made 25 saves for Pembroke Midget AAA on 28 shots. The Lumber Kings incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Ryan Green rejected 24 shots on goal for Brockville Midget AAA. The Braves incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
