The Pembroke Midget AAA Lumber Kings had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-1 win over the Smiths Falls Midget AAA Bears.

Pembroke Midget AAA was paced by Reid Barber, who grabbed one goal. Barber scored 4:07 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Pembroke Midget AAA. Kiefer Levasseur assisted on the tally.

The Lumber Kings put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Smiths Falls Midget AAA to score on any of its four power plays. Pembroke Midget AAA surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Lumber Kings have scored at the pace of 2.4 goals per game during the current campaign.

Pembroke Midget AAA also got points from Noah Maika, who also registered one goal and two assists and Will Searle, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Pembroke Midget AAA included Lawson Leclaire and Jared Campitelli, who each put in one. In addition, Pembroke Midget AAA received assists from Andre Simard, who had one and Brad Richardson, who had three.

The Bears' defense was uncharacteristically lax during the game. Smiths Falls Midget AAA averages 2.5 goals allowed per game.

The Bears were led by Nathan Bisson, who scored the team's only goal. Bisson scored 1:25 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Matthew Bidin picked up the assist.

Darian McTavish recorded 20 saves for Pembroke Midget AAA. The Lumber Kings incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Kyle Renaud took the loss and made eight saves before being replaced by Alex Zoutis who made 15 saves. Smiths Falls Midget AAA incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
