Kanata Midget AAA rolls over Kemptville Midget AAA, 6-2

The Kanata Midget AAA Lasers had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-2 win over the Kemptville Midget AAA 73s.

Justin Palmer was all over the ice for Kanata Midget AAA, as he finished with two goals in the win. Palmer's tallies came at 1:44 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kanata Midget AAA and 8:14 into the second to make the score 3-0 Kanata Midget AAA.

The Lasers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Kanata Midget AAA forced Kemptville Midget AAA goalie Jacob Dioszeghy to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. The Lasers found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, Kanata Midget AAA averages 3.9 goals per contest.

Kanata Midget AAA additionally got points from Felix Tourigny, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Brian Bygrave, who also had one goal and one assist. Kanata Midget AAA also got a goal from Mack Miller as well. More assists for Kanata Midget AAA came via Bennett Stockdale and Cade Townend, who each chipped in one and Tyler Orban and Ty Gauthier, who contributed two each.

Others who scored for Kemptville Midget AAA included Brady Elder and Devin Saumur, who scored one goal each. In addition, Kemptville Midget AAA received assists from John Beaton, who had one.

The Lasers' Cameron Scott stopped 22 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Kanata Midget AAA incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Jacob Dioszeghy made 27 saves for the 73s on 33 shots. Kemptville Midget AAA incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
