Cumberland Midget AAA outlasts Ottawa Midget AAA, 3-2

The game between the Cumberland Midget AAA Grads and the Ottawa Midget AAA Senators was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Cumberland Midget AAA emerged with a 3-2 win.

Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Liam Peyton's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

The Grads were led by Peyton, who grabbed one goal. Peyton scored 8:42 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Cumberland Midget AAA. Adam Goodfellow assisted on the tally.

Cumberland Midget AAA excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Cumberland Midget AAA also had goals scored by Zakary Rodrigue and Francois Drouin, who scored one goal each. In addition, Cumberland Midget AAA received assists from Mathieu Plante, Alex Wall, Roman Cannell, Alex Robert, and Wil Murray, who contributed one each.

Ottawa Midget AAA put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Grads to score on any of their three power plays.

The Senators were helped by Nicholas Raponi de Roia, who registered one goal. Raponi de Roia scored 10:49 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Alderic Denis picked up the assist. Tyler Newell also scored for Ottawa Midget AAA. More assists for Ottawa Midget AAA came via Danny Johnson and Griffin McGregor, who each chipped in one.

Cumberland Midget AAA's Seth Carter stopped 23 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The Grads incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Nicolas Rousseau rejected 25 shots on goal for Ottawa Midget AAA. The Senators incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
