Kanata Midget AAA survives Brockville Midget AAA comeback, wins 3-2

The Brockville Midget AAA Braves tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Kanata Midget AAA Lasers held on for a 3-2 victory.

A goal by Luca Nocita put Kanata Midget AAA up 3-1 in the third period, but Brockville Midget AAA pulled to within one on Griffin Patterson's tally 17:36 into the third period.

The Lasers were led by Nocita, who registered one goal. Nocita scored 13:51 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Kanata Midget AAA. David Silye assisted on the tally.

Kanata Midget AAA stifled the Braves' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Lasers forced Brockville Midget AAA goalie Ryan Green to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

Others who scored for Kanata Midget AAA included Nathan MacKechnie and Bennett Stockdale, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Kanata Midget AAA were Tyler Orban, Daniel McIntyre, Brian Bygrave, and Cade Townend, who contributed one each.

The Braves put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Kanata Midget AAA to score on any of its four power plays.

Jake Hutton also scored for Brockville Midget AAA. In addition, Brockville Midget AAA received assists from Adam VanEttinger, Rocco Barresi, and Mark Morrison, who each chipped in one.

Jean-Philippe Tourigny rejected 22 shots on goal for the Lasers. Kanata Midget AAA incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Green recorded 33 saves for Brockville Midget AAA. The Braves incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
