DURHAM WEST downs CAMBRIDGE, 3-1

Kirsten MacDougall (A) tallied one point to lead DURHAM WEST to a 3-1 victory over CAMBRIDGE.

Team could not crack CAMBRIDGE's penalty kill and was held to one power play goal while having 11 opportunities to play with the man advantage.

DURHAM WEST additionally got points from Nicole Remedios, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. DURHAM WEST also got a goal from Alexandra Maw as well. In addition, DURHAM WEST received assists from Jaden Head, who had two and Samantha McKenzie (C), Lisa Bruno (A), and Saroya Tinker, who each chipped in one.

CAMBRIDGE's penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 9.0 minutes per game CAMBRIDGE had been spending in the box. CAMBRIDGE's offense was handcuffed by DURHAM WEST's defensive play, and CAMBRIDGE managed only 13 shots on goal during the game.

CAMBRIDGE was led by Meghan Anton, who scored the team's only goal. Anton scored 12:41 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Brooke Schroeder picked up the assist.

Tera Hofmann rejected 12 shots on goal for DURHAM WEST. DURHAM WEST incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Alexx Ridding made 24 saves for CAMBRIDGE on 27 shots. CAMBRIDGE registered one goal on four power play opportunities. CAMBRIDGE ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Sarah Verbeek was ejected from the game.
