TORONTO shrugs off penalties, upends BRAMPTON, 4-1

TORONTO's penalty kill was superb, as TORONTO survived multiple penalties to beat BRAMPTON, 4-1.

TORONTO was paced by Camryn Tait, who registered one goal and one assist. Tait scored 47 seconds into the third period to make the score 2-1 TORONTO. Emma Low-A-Chee assisted on the tally.

TORONTO stifled BRAMPTON's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. TORONTO forced BRAMPTON goalie Allison Small to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots. TORONTO could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 28 minutes in penalties during the game.

TORONTO also got a goal from Lauren Ianni as well. More assists for TORONTO came via Blaire Allison, who had two and Haley Shugart, Claire Thompson, and Neve Van Pelt, who each chipped in one.

BRAMPTON's power play unit failed to produce, and was held to zero goals on nine chances.

BRAMPTON was led by Abby Hofstra (A), who scored the team's only goal. Hofstra (A) scored 8:34 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Nicole Augello picked up the assist.

Kayla Wormsbecher rejected 17 shots on goal for TORONTO. TORONTO registered one goal on seven power play opportunities. For TORONTO, Celine Frappier was ejected from the game. BRAMPTON's Small stopped 35 shots out of the 39 that she faced. BRAMPTON incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
