WHITBY survived a determined comeback attempt by CAMBRIDGE on the way to a 3-1 win. A goal by Nikita Boardman put WHITBY up 3-0 in the third period, but CAMBRIDGE pulled to within two on Alyssa Chiarello (A)'s tally 9:33 into the third period. Alicia Pallister had two goals to lead WHITBY to victory. Pallister's tallies came at 4:02 into the second period to make the score 1-0 WHITBY and 13:42 into the second to make the score 2-0 WHITBY. WHITBY's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four CAMBRIDGE power plays. WHITBY additionally got points from Boardman, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for WHITBY were Rebecca Hall, Samantha Isbell, and Haley Edwards, who each chipped in one. CAMBRIDGE put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow WHITBY to score on any of its four power plays. In addition, CAMBRIDGE received assists from Nicole Zabel, who had one. Rachel McQuigge made 20 saves for WHITBY on 21 shots. WHITBY incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Caitlin Kroetsch recorded 25 saves for CAMBRIDGE. CAMBRIDGE incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
