LEASIDE outlasts BRAMPTON, 3-2Century Gardens Sat, Feb 13, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
The game between LEASIDE and BRAMPTON was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end LEASIDE emerged with a 3-2 win. Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Samantha Jones's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker. Jones was all over the ice for LEASIDE, as she had two goals in the win. LEASIDE forced BRAMPTON goalie Allison Small to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots. Kristin Della Rovere also scored for LEASIDE. In addition, LEASIDE received assists from Olivia Reid and Megan Pardy, who contributed one each and Emma Pye (A) and Cynthia Cavanagh (C), who each chipped in two. BRAMPTON put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow LEASIDE to score on any of its four power plays. BRAMPTON was helped by Abby Hofstra (A), who grabbed one goal. Hofstra (A) scored 11:13 into the second period to make the score 2-1 LEASIDE. Nicole Augello assisted on the tally. BRAMPTON also got a goal from Dana Beattie (A) as well. More assists for BRAMPTON came via Kaitlyn Perichak and Sydney Pierce, who contributed one each. Danielle Toland recorded 17 saves for LEASIDE. LEASIDE incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. BRAMPTON's Small stopped 33 shots out of the 36 that she faced. BRAMPTON incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
