WATERLOO holds on for 3-2 win against NEPEANMinto Rec Complex Sun, Feb 07, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
NEPEAN tried to dig itself out of a two-goal hole, but WATERLOO held on for a 3-2 victory. WATERLOO took a 3-1 lead during the third period, only to have NEPEAN storm back on a Kalie Grant goal 18:57 into the third period to pull to one goal down. Kelsey Dixon had a great game for WATERLOO, netting two goals. Dixon found the back of the net 4:04 into the first period to make the score 1-0 WATERLOO and again while 14:00 into the second to make the score 2-1 WATERLOO. WATERLOO also got a goal from Sarah Rettinger as well. Other players who recorded assists for WATERLOO were Brooklyn Cole, who had two and Megan Fergusson, Olivia Wells, and Jennifer Newcombe, who each chipped in one. NEPEAN was helped by Abygail Moloughney, who had one goal. Moloughney scored 11:28 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Samantha Bouley picked up the assist. NEPEAN additionally got points from Grant, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for NEPEAN came via Helen Markovic and Tristyn Svetek, who contributed one each. Cohen Myers rejected 23 shots on goal for WATERLOO. WATERLOO incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. NEPEAN's Celine Tessier stopped 19 shots out of the 22 that she faced. NEPEAN incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
