WATERLOO beat OTTAWA, 3-1, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout.

WATERLOO took over the lead for good with a goal by Megan Fergusson at 8:58 in the first period. Becky Higgs picked up the assist.

WATERLOO was paced by Fergusson, who had one goal and one assist.

WATERLOO managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. WATERLOO ended up below its season average of 7.0 penalty minutes per game. OTTAWA was unable to stop WATERLOO from sending pucks towards the net, and WATERLOO eventually piled up 36 shots on goal.
