NEPEAN rips BRAMPTON, 5-1

NEPEAN had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-1 win over BRAMPTON.

Blake Orosz was all over the ice for NEPEAN, as she tallied two goals and two assists in the win. Orosz scored the first of her two goals at 34 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 NEPEAN. Kristy Pidgeon picked up the assist. Orosz's next tally made the score 5-1 NEPEAN with 5:22 left in the third period. Samantha Bouley assisted on the tally.

NEPEAN's penalty kill excelled, as NEPEAN gave up zero goals despite allowing eight power plays.

NEPEAN forced BRAMPTON's goalies to work between the pipes, ripping 49 shots and forcing 44 saves. Allison Small made 31 stops and Sophia Akhavan-Zanjani made 13. NEPEAN stifled BRAMPTON's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. NEPEAN outdid its season average for goals scored. NEPEAN averages 2.3 goals per game. NEPEAN could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game.

NEPEAN additionally got points from Helen Markovic, who also registered one goal and one assist and Pidgeon, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. NEPEAN also got a goal from Katie Rankin as well. More assists for NEPEAN came via Shelby Calof, Abygail Moloughney, and Cassidy Michalicka, who contributed one each.

BRAMPTON put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow NEPEAN to score on any of its 12 power plays.

NEPEAN's Celine Tessier stopped 24 shots out of the 25 that she faced. BRAMPTON incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors.
