MISSISSAUGA holds on for 5-4 win against STONEY CREEK

STONEY CREEK tried to dig itself out of a four-goal hole, but MISSISSAUGA held on for a 5-4 victory.

MISSISSAUGA took a 4-0 lead during the second period, only to have STONEY CREEK storm back on a Victoria Klimek goal 16:55 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

MISSISSAUGA got the win thanks to a great game by Lindsay Agnew (C), who had two goals and one assist. Agnew (C) scored the first of her two goals at 3:16 into the first period to make the score 1-0 MISSISSAUGA. Daryl Watts picked up the assist. Agnew (C)'s next tally made the score 3-0 MISSISSAUGA with 9:13 left in the first period. Watts provided the assist.

MISSISSAUGA forced STONEY CREEK's goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, totaling 31 shots and forcing 26 saves. Serena DAngelo made 19 stops and Hannah Miller made seven. MISSISSAUGA's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. MISSISSAUGA is averaging 1.5 goal against for the season.

MISSISSAUGA also got points from Kaelyn Johnson, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Mikyla Grant-Mentis, who also racked up one goal and one assist. MISSISSAUGA also got a goal from Emily Pinto as well. In addition, MISSISSAUGA received assists from Natalie Marcuzzi (A), who had one.

STONEY CREEK's offense rang up 33 shots on MISSISSAUGA's net. STONEY CREEK gave up more goals than its normal season average. STONEY CREEK averages 1.2 goal allowed per game.
