TORONTO downs BRAMPTON, 2-1

Neve Van Pelt registered two points to lead TORONTO to a 2-1 victory over BRAMPTON.

TORONTO excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. TORONTO forced BRAMPTON goalie Sophia Akhavan-Zanjani to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots.

Haley Shugart also scored for TORONTO. More assists for TORONTO came via Avery Mitchell, who had one and Tori Haywood, who had two.

TORONTO's defense shut down BRAMPTON's forwards for much of the game, and BRAMPTON got off only 10 shots during the contest. BRAMPTON could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

BRAMPTON was led by Jamie Bulleid, who scored the team's only goal. Bulleid scored 7:00 into the first period to make the score 1-0 BRAMPTON. Dana Beattie (A) provided the assist.

Kayla Wormsbecher made nine saves for TORONTO on 10 shots. TORONTO incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Akhavan-Zanjani recorded 30 saves for BRAMPTON.
