Van Pelt's goals lift TORONTO to 6-3 victory over LONDON

Behind a great game by Neve Van Pelt, who had two goals, TORONTO defeated LONDON, 6-3.

Van Pelt scored at 1:50 into the first period to make the score 1-0 TORONTO and again while 2:13 into the third to make the score 4-3 TORONTO.

TORONTO's offense rang up 43 shots on LONDON's net. TORONTO surpassed its usual scoring output this season. TORONTO averages 2.7 goals per game.

TORONTO also got points from Haley Shugart, who also grabbed two goals and two assists to lead the team in points and Emma Low-A-Chee, who also registered one goal and one assist. TORONTO also got a goal from Lauren Ianni as well. More assists for TORONTO came via Sabrina Repaci, who had two and Claire Dalton (PU), Claudia Black, Celine Frappier, Blaire Allison, Camryn Tait, and Emma Buckles, who contributed one each.

LONDON gave up more goals than its normal season average. LONDON is averaging 2.3 goals against for the season. LONDON's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

LONDON was helped by Ella Shelton, who had two goals. Shelton scored the first of her two goals at 11:15 into the second period to make the score 3-2 TORONTO. Sydnee Baker provided the assist. Shelton's next tally made the score 3-3 with 7:58 left in the second period. Lexie Adzija picked up the assist. LONDON additionally got points from Baker, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, LONDON received assists from Emily Bowman and Nicole Pateman, who each chipped in one.
