Pidgeon leads NEPEAN over SOUTHWEST, 6-1

NEPEAN's Kristy Pidgeon had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in her team's 6-1 win over SOUTHWEST.

Pidgeon found the back of the net 4:44 into the second period to make the score 1-0 NEPEAN and again while 6:09 into the second to make the score 2-0 NEPEAN.

NEPEAN's offense rang up 41 shots on SOUTHWEST's net. NEPEAN surpassed its usual scoring output this season. NEPEAN averages 2.7 goals per game. NEPEAN's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in three goals.

NEPEAN additionally got points from Shelby Calof, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Samantha Bouley, who also racked up one goal and three assists to lead the team in points, and Tristyn Svetek, who also tallied one goal and two assists. NEPEAN also got a goal from Devon Greenough as well. Other players who recorded assists for NEPEAN were Katie Rankin, who had one and Abygail Moloughney, who had two.

SOUTHWEST excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances.

SOUTHWEST was led by Angeline Taiariol (A), who scored the team's only goal. Taiariol (A) scored 8:24 into the second period to make the score 2-1 NEPEAN. Avery Mertz assisted on the tally.

Amanda Hadwen recorded 16 saves for NEPEAN. NEPEAN incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. SOUTHWEST's Emily OBright stopped 35 shots out of the 41 that she faced. SOUTHWEST incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
