BLUEWATER had a five-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-1 win over SOUTHWEST.

BLUEWATER got the win on the strength of a great game by Carly Wouters (A), who had two goals and one assist. Wouters (A) scored the first of her two goals at 6:58 into the first period to make the score 2-0 BLUEWATER. Wouters (A)'s next tally made the score 4-1 BLUEWATER with 11:45 left in the second period. Claire Banks picked up the assist.

SOUTHWEST's power play was ineffective against BLUEWATER's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

BLUEWATER outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, BLUEWATER averages 1.8 goal per contest.

BLUEWATER also got points from Sierra Burt, who also registered one goal and three assists and Bridgid Goris, who also tallied two goals and one assist. BLUEWATER also had goals scored by Emma Forcey (C) and Sydney McDougall, who each put in one. In addition, BLUEWATER received assists from Erin Ross, Tyler Way, and Madeleine Burnett, who contributed one each.

SOUTHWEST excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

SOUTHWEST was led by Ellen Donaldson, who scored the team's only goal. Donaldson scored 4:53 into the second period to make the score 2-1 BLUEWATER. Angeline Taiariol (A) provided the assist.

Morgan Baker rejected 16 shots on goal for BLUEWATER. BLUEWATER incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. SOUTHWEST's starting goalie, Vanessa Despenic, made nine saves and finished with the loss before she was taken out in favor of Emily OBright, who stopped two shots. SOUTHWEST incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
