MISSISSAUGA downs CAMBRIDGE in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

MISSISSAUGA pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over CAMBRIDGE on a clutch goal by Mikyla Grant-Mentis.

Grant-Mentis had a great game for MISSISSAUGA, netting two goals. Grant-Mentis scored at 9:44 into the third period to make the score 3-3 and again while 3:49 into the fourth to make the score 4-3 MISSISSAUGA.

MISSISSAUGA forced CAMBRIDGE goalie Caitlin Kroetsch to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots.

MISSISSAUGA also got points from Daryl Watts, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Lindsay Agnew (C), who also had one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for MISSISSAUGA were Natalie Marcuzzi (A), who had two and Rose Falzone, Gabby Smyth, and Jacquie Tam, who contributed one each.

CAMBRIDGE's defense was uncharacteristically lax during the game. CAMBRIDGE is averaging 1.7 goal against for the season.

CAMBRIDGE was helped by Sarah Verbeek, who had one goal. Verbeek scored 11:46 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Annie Berg assisted on the tally. CAMBRIDGE additionally got points from Alyssa Chiarello (A), who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Carly AuCoin also scored for CAMBRIDGE. In addition, CAMBRIDGE received assists from Brooke Schroeder, Abby Lafreniere, and Rachael Irvine, who each chipped in one.

Lin Han made 17 saves for MISSISSAUGA on 20 shots. MISSISSAUGA incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. CAMBRIDGE's Kroetsch stopped 39 shots out of the 43 that she faced. CAMBRIDGE incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
