BARRIE survives TORONTO comeback, wins 2-1

TORONTO tried to dig itself out of a two-goal hole, but BARRIE held on for a 2-1 victory.

A goal by Michelle Morrison put BARRIE up 2-0 in the third period, but TORONTO pulled to within one on Neve Van Pelt's tally 8:39 into the third period.

TORONTO was stymied by BARRIE's netminder Alyssa Moyer, who stopped 37 shots during the victory. Moyer managed to improve on her goals against average, which stood at 2.56 prior to the game.

BARRIE was sparked by Morrison, who racked up one goal. Morrison scored 4:49 into the third period to make the score 2-0 BARRIE.

Alex Frigon also scored for BARRIE. More assists for BARRIE came via Darcie Roy and Chloe Pilote, who contributed one each.

TORONTO excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances. TORONTO's offense rang up 38 shots on BARRIE's net. TORONTO was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 14 penalty minutes.

Other players who recorded assists for TORONTO were Avery Mitchell, who had one.

BARRIE incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Stephanie Neatby made 19 saves for TORONTO on 21 shots. TORONTO registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
