BLUEWATER blows out NEPEAN, 5-2

BLUEWATER had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-2 win over NEPEAN.

Sierra Burt was all over the ice for BLUEWATER, as she tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Burt scored the first of her two goals at 4:41 into the first period to make the score 2-0 BLUEWATER. Claire Banks assisted on the tally. Burt's next tally made the score 3-0 BLUEWATER with 8:23 left in the second period. Emma Forcey (C) picked up the assist.

BLUEWATER's penalty kill excelled, as BLUEWATER gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

BLUEWATER outdid its season average for goals scored. BLUEWATER averages 1.4 goal per game.

BLUEWATER also got points from Forcey (C), who also registered one goal and two assists. BLUEWATER also had goals scored by Madison Davey and Madeleine Burnett, who each put in one. More assists for BLUEWATER came via Gillian Foote, Erin Ross, and Bridgid Goris, who contributed one each.

NEPEAN forced BLUEWATER's goalies to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots and forcing 34 saves. Morgan Baker made 34 stops and Holly Scott made zero. NEPEAN's defense was uncharacteristically lax during the game. NEPEAN averages 1.6 goal allowed per game.

BLUEWATER incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Amanda Hadwen recorded 22 saves for NEPEAN. NEPEAN incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
