STONEY CREEK gutted out a close 3-2 win against SOUTHWEST. STONEY CREEK gained the winning advantage on a goal by Megan Korzack 14:19 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer. Korzack was all over the ice for STONEY CREEK, as she registered two goals in the win. STONEY CREEK's penalty kill excelled, as STONEY CREEK gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays. STONEY CREEK's offense was handcuffed by SOUTHWEST's defensive play, and STONEY CREEK managed only 14 shots on goal during the game. STONEY CREEK also got a goal from Kayla Vespa (A) as well. In addition, STONEY CREEK received assists from Mary Corby (PU), who had three and Emma Hicks (PU) and Kristen Siermachesky, who each chipped in one. SOUTHWEST was helped by Ellen Donaldson, who grabbed one goal. Donaldson scored 3:00 into the first period to make the score 1-0 SOUTHWEST. Amy Maitre assisted on the tally. Savannah Bouzide (A) also scored for SOUTHWEST. Other players who recorded assists for SOUTHWEST were Ashley Maitre, who had one. Hannah Miller made 26 saves for STONEY CREEK on 28 shots. STONEY CREEK incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Vanessa Despenic recorded 11 saves for SOUTHWEST. SOUTHWEST incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
