WATERLOO found itself down againt BURLINGTON, but battled back to secure to a 2-2 (OT) tie. BURLINGTON put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow WATERLOO to score on any of its six power plays. BURLINGTON was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 16 penalty minutes. BURLINGTON was helped by Rachel Armstrong (A), who registered one goal. Armstrong (A) scored 5:11 into the first period to make the score 1-0 BURLINGTON. Sydney Davison provided the assist. Ashley Money (A) also scored for BURLINGTON. In addition, BURLINGTON received assists from Erin Arsenault (PU), Megan Laviolette, and Kiana Tobia, who each chipped in one. WATERLOO excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. WATERLOO could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game. WATERLOO was helped by Sarah Rettinger, who racked up one goal. Rettinger scored 13:46 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Lexi Templeman picked up the assist. WATERLOO also got a goal from Samantha McCrory (PU) as well. Other players who recorded assists for WATERLOO were Megan Fergusson and Becky Higgs, who contributed one each. Dagny Hudspeth made 27 saves for BURLINGTON on 29 shots. Morgan Heinbuch-Filipowitsch recorded 27 saves for WATERLOO.
