TORONTO hangs on, beats BLUEWATER 3-1

TORONTO took the lead against BLUEWATER in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 3-1 victory.

Celine Frappier provided TORONTO with the game-winning tally when she scored 5:19 into the first period. Claire Thompson picked up the assist.

Frappier had two goals to lead TORONTO to victory.

TORONTO's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three BLUEWATER power plays.

Haley Shugart also scored for TORONTO. Other players who recorded assists for TORONTO were Avery Mitchell, Taylor Baker, Emma Buckles, and Neve Van Pelt, who contributed one each.

BLUEWATER put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow TORONTO to score on any of its three power plays. BLUEWATER did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 12 shots on net to force 11 saves.

BLUEWATER was led by Bridgid Goris, who scored the team's only goal. Goris scored 4:30 into the second period to make the score 2-1 TORONTO. Sierra Burt (A) assisted on the tally.

Stephanie Neatby recorded 11 saves for TORONTO. TORONTO incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Morgan Baker made 26 saves for BLUEWATER on 29 shots. BLUEWATER incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
