DURHAM WEST's penalty kill was superb, as DURHAM WEST survived multiple penalties to beat KINGSTON, 3-1. DURHAM WEST was sparked by Natalie Wozney, who finished with one goal. Wozney scored 4:21 into the second period to make the score 2-0 DURHAM WEST. Saroya Tinker picked up the assist. DURHAM WEST kept KINGSTON's goalie busy throughout the game, and Whitney Morton made 36 saves on 39 shots. DURHAM WEST struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 16 penalty minutes for seven opposing power plays. Others who scored for DURHAM WEST included Charlea Pedersen and Jaden Head, who each put in one. In addition, DURHAM WEST received assists from Lisa Bruno (A), who had one. KINGSTON stifled DURHAM WEST's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. DURHAM WEST's defense shut down KINGSTON's forwards for much of the game, and KINGSTON got off only 10 shots during the contest. KINGSTON was led by Ellie Conte (A), who scored the team's only goal. Conte (A) scored 4:33 into the second period to make the score 2-1 DURHAM WEST. Sidonie Chard provided the assist. Tera Hofmann made nine saves for DURHAM WEST on 10 shots. DURHAM WEST registered zero goals on five power play opportunities. KINGSTON incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
