Watts lifts MISSISSAUGA over WATERLOO, 5-2

Behind a great game by Daryl Watts, who had two goals, MISSISSAUGA defeated WATERLOO, 5-2.

Watts scored at 2:26 into the first period to make the score 1-0 MISSISSAUGA and again while 3:56 into the second to make the score 2-1 MISSISSAUGA.

Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

MISSISSAUGA additionally got points from Kaelyn Johnson, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Kyra Colbert (A), who also finished with one goal and one assist. Gabby Smyth also scored for MISSISSAUGA. In addition, MISSISSAUGA received assists from Lindsay Agnew (C), who had two and Leah Galati and Brooke Bonsteel (A), who each chipped in one.

WATERLOO excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. WATERLOO's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. WATERLOO averages 1.4 goal allowed per game.

WATERLOO was helped by Brooklyn Cole, who registered one goal. Cole scored 3:55 into the third period to make the score 4-2 MISSISSAUGA. Sarah Rettinger provided the assist. WATERLOO also got a goal from Megan Fergusson as well. Other players who recorded assists for WATERLOO were Lexi Templeman, Megan Johnston, and Morgan Dezell, who contributed one each.

MISSISSAUGA's Lin Han stopped 25 shots out of the 27 that she faced. MISSISSAUGA incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Mikayla Schnarr (PU) made 22 saves for WATERLOO on 26 shots. WATERLOO incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
