TORONTO had a five-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-0 win over SOUTHWEST. TORONTO was sparked by Mackenzie Krasowski (PU), who grabbed one goal. Krasowski (PU) scored 5:38 into the first period to make the score 1-0 TORONTO. TORONTO stifled SOUTHWEST's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. TORONTO bested its season scoring average. TORONTO has scored at the pace of 3.0 goals per game during the current campaign. The defensemen of TORONTO were also effective in SOUTHWEST's zone, and came away with two goals. SOUTHWEST managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. SOUTHWEST ended up below its season average of 7.0 penalty minutes per game. SOUTHWEST's offense was handcuffed by TORONTO's defensive play, and SOUTHWEST managed only 13 shots on goal during the game. TORONTO took out Emma Balazsi (PU) after she had made three saves and installed Kayla Wormsbecher in goal, where she finished with 10 saves and the win. TORONTO incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Emily OBright made 17 saves before being replaced by Vanessa Despenic, who took the loss and made four saves. SOUTHWEST registered zero goals on four power play opportunities.
