BRAMPTON holds on for 3-1 win against SOUTHWESTForest Glade Arena Sun, Oct 04, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
SOUTHWEST tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but BRAMPTON held on for a 3-1 victory. BRAMPTON took a 3-0 lead during the second period, only to have SOUTHWEST storm back on a Jillian Crane goal 14:43 into the third period to pull to two goals down. BRAMPTON was led by goalie Allison Small, who finished with 28 saves while allowing one goal. Small certainly lowered her goals against average, which was 1.95 entering the contest. BRAMPTON could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game. BRAMPTON was helped by Samantha Fenney, who had one goal. Fenney scored 11:06 into the second period to make the score 2-0 BRAMPTON. Emily Wood picked up the assist. Dana Beattie (A) also scored for BRAMPTON. In addition, BRAMPTON received assists from Kaitlyn Perichak, who had two and Avery Horlock (PU), Brittney Gout (A), and Abby Hofstra (A), who contributed one each. Other players who recorded assists for SOUTHWEST were Jenna Rops and Victoria Hilton, who each chipped in one. BRAMPTON registered zero goals on one power play opportunities. Vanessa Despenic made 18 saves for SOUTHWEST on 21 shots. SOUTHWEST incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
