Blake Orosz netted a hat trick to lead NEPEAN over AURORA, 6-0. Orosz's first goal came 13:41 into the first period. He then added goals at 6:15 into the second and at 7:10 into the second.AURORA trailed by one after the first period, but NEPEAN went into the second intermission with a 4-0 lead and never looked back. Celine Tessier frustrated AURORA's offense all game, and stopped 26 shots en route to a shutout. Tessier certainly lowered her goals against average, which was 0.6 entering the contest. NEPEAN stifled AURORA's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. NEPEAN surpassed its usual scoring output this season. NEPEAN has scored at the pace of 3.8 goals per game during the current campaign. NEPEAN also got points from Kalie Grant (C), who also had one goal and one assist, Kristy Pidgeon, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Samantha Bouley, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for NEPEAN came via Serena Weaver, who had two and Helen Markovic, Kristen MacIntyre, and Tristyn Svetek, who contributed one each. AURORA managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. AURORA ended up below its season average of 4.0 penalty minutes per game. NEPEAN incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Jenna Alessandrini rejected 21 shots on goal for AURORA. AURORA registered zero goals on five power play opportunities.
