Garrett Godlewski scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and the M1 Slippery Rock University Pride held off the challenges of the M1 Pittsburgh University of Panthers in a tough 3-1 win.

Godlewski provided M1 Slippery Rock University with the game-winning tally when he scored 6:41 into the first period. Joseph Bender picked up the assist.

Thomas Kimmick had a great game for the Pride, netting two goals. Kimmick's tallies came at 10:27 into the first period to make the score 2-0 M1 Slippery Rock University and 19:09 into the third to make the score 3-1 M1 Slippery Rock University.

M1 Slippery Rock University's Sami-Pekka Ansio was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 47 saves and let only one puck past him. Ansio managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.76 prior to the game.
