Taylor leads M1 Duquesne University to shutout victory over M1 Slippery Rock University

Alexander Taylor recorded a shutout against the M1 Slippery Rock University Pride as the M1 Duquesne University Dukes picked up a 5-0 win.

Zak Kindya had two goals and two assists to lead M1 Duquesne University. Kindya scored the first of his two goals at 11:49 into the first period to make the score 2-0 M1 Duquesne University. Thomas Diffendal assisted on the tally. Kindya's next tally made the score 5-0 M1 Duquesne University with 14:15 left in the third period. Jason Bruce provided the assist.

The Dukes were often in penalty trouble, totaling six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. M1 Duquesne University had been averaging 21.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Dukes' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four M1 Slippery Rock University power plays. M1 Duquesne University surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Dukes average 2.9 goals per game. M1 Duquesne University's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. The Dukes put 49 shots on net during the contest, more than the 0.8 they average per game.

Others who scored for M1 Duquesne University included Matthew Carrig, Eric Smith, and Arthur Birman, who each put in one. More assists for M1 Duquesne University came via Nolan Trombetta, who had two and Devin Rosato, Walter Hansen, and Sean Martin, who contributed one each.

M1 Slippery Rock University could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Pride average 3.3 goals per game. With 41 shots on target during the contest, M1 Slippery Rock University exceeded the 0.1 shots it averages per game this year. The Pride found themselves short handed often, totaling 22 penalty minutes and allowing eight power plays.

M1 Duquesne University's Taylor stopped 41 shots out of the 41 that he faced. Sami-Pekka Ansio recorded 44 saves for M1 Slippery Rock University.
