M1 Michigan-Dearborn ^University of took a 5-1 lead during the second period, only to have M1 Oakland University storm back on a Patrick Smiatacz goal 2:51 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

The Wolverines got the win thanks to a great game by Tyler Groat, who had two goals and one assist.
