M1 Michigan-Dearborn ^University of survives M1 Oakland University comeback, wins 5-3

The M1 Oakland University Golden Grizzlies tried their best to erase a four-goal deficit, but the M1 Michigan-Dearborn ^University of Wolverines would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-3.

M1 Michigan-Dearborn ^University of took a 5-1 lead during the second period, only to have M1 Oakland University storm back on a Patrick Smiatacz goal 2:51 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

The Wolverines got the win thanks to a great game by Tyler Groat, who had two goals and one assist. Groat scored the first of his two goals at 5:56 into the second period to make the score 4-1 M1 Michigan-Dearborn ^University of. Groat's next tally made the score 5-1 M1 Michigan-Dearborn ^University of with 13:36 left in the second period.

M1 Michigan-Dearborn ^University of forced Golden Grizzlies' netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, firing 41 shots and forcing 36 saves. Bryce Goulah made 17 stops and Anthony Munoz made 19. The Wolverines put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Golden Grizzlies to score on any of their four power plays. M1 Michigan-Dearborn ^University of could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 14 minutes in penalties during the game.

M1 Michigan-Dearborn ^University of additionally got points from Tyler Dalton, who also racked up one goal and two assists. M1 Michigan-Dearborn ^University of also had goals scored by Marcus Mcsweeney and Jeffery Mcfarland, who scored one goal each.
