The M1 Oakland University Golden Grizzlies tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the M1 Michigan-Dearborn ^University of Wolverines held on for a 4-3 victory.

M1 Michigan-Dearborn ^University of made the score 4-1 on a goal by Tyler Groat at 13:45 in the third period, and M1 Oakland University got as close as 4-3 when Kyle Nelson scored 19:23 into the third period.

The Wolverines excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. M1 Michigan-Dearborn ^University of's offense rang up 41 shots on the Golden Grizzlies' net.
