M1 Binghamton University rips M1 Rochester Institute of Technolog, 5-2

The M1 Binghamton University Bearcats were firing on all cylinders against the M1 Rochester Institute of Technolog Tigers, and when the final buzzer sounded Bearcats emerged with a 5-2 win.

#$self.jersey had two goals and one assist to lead M1 Binghamton University. #$self.jersey scored the first of his two goals at 11:32 into the first period to make the score 1-0 M1 Binghamton University. Nick Catrone picked up the assist. #$self.jersey's next tally made the score 4-1 M1 Binghamton University with 14:26 left in the third period. Peter Russo provided the assist.

The Bearcats stifled M1 Rochester Institute of Technolog's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. M1 Binghamton University forced the Tigers goalie Gavin Lewis to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

Anthony Governale also scored for M1 Binghamton University. Other players who recorded assists for M1 Binghamton University were Nicholas DeFranco, Matteo Reiss, and Alex Walczyk, who contributed one each.

M1 Rochester Institute of Technolog put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Bearcats to score on any of their five power plays. The Tigers kept M1 Binghamton University's goalie busy throughout the game, and Ryan Gallagher made 43 saves on 45 shots.

M1 Rochester Institute of Technolog was helped by Daniel Miller, who racked up one goal. Miller scored 18:05 into the second period to make the score 3-1 M1 Binghamton University. Nigel Honegger assisted on the tally. M1 Rochester Institute of Technolog also got a goal from Phillip Scheible as well. In addition, M1 Rochester Institute of Technolog received assists from Sean Bellefeuille, Kenny Luzak, and Nicholas Washco, who each chipped in one.

The Bearcats incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Lewis rejected 31 shots on goal for the Tigers. M1 Rochester Institute of Technolog totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-3 on the power play. The Tigers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Phillip Dalo was ejected from the game.
