M1 Rochester College survives M1 Kent State University comeback, wins 3-2

The M1 Kent State University Golden Flashes tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the M1 Rochester College Warriors held on for a 3-2 victory.

M1 Rochester College made the score 3-1 on a goal by Tj Burns at 19:33 in the second period, and M1 Kent State University got as close as 3-2 when Tj West scored 19:41 into the third period.

Burns had a great game for the Warriors, netting two goals.

M1 Rochester College put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Golden Flashes to score on any of their three power plays. The Warriors put 20 shots on net during the contest, more than the 1.1 they average per game.

M1 Rochester College additionally got points from Ryan Jaros, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, M1 Rochester College received assists from Matt Kadolph, who had two and Michael Lasky, Christopher Williford, and Alex Kopek, who contributed one each.

M1 Rochester College was unable to stop M1 Kent State University from sending pucks towards the net, and the Golden Flashes eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. M1 Kent State University was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 14 penalty minutes.

M1 Kent State University also got a goal from Jonathon Buttitta as well. More assists for M1 Kent State University came via Caleb Gannelli, Jake Hainline, and Andrew Radosevic, who each chipped in one.

Zakk Olvin made 31 saves for the Warriors on 33 shots. M1 Rochester College incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Sky Buller rejected 17 shots on goal for the Golden Flashes.
