M1 Rutgers University downs M1 Duquesne University, 5-2

Brian Gnad grabbed two points to lead the M1 Rutgers University Scarlet Knights to a 5-2 victory over the M1 Duquesne University Dukes.

M1 Rutgers University racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with six minors and one major for 47 minutes in penalty time. The Scarlet Knights surpassed its season average of 19.0 penalty minutes per game. M1 Rutgers University stifled M1 Duquesne University's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. With 29 shots on target during the contest, the Scarlet Knights exceeded the 1.9 shot they average per game this year.

M1 Rutgers University additionally got points from CJ Maksut, who also tallied one goal and one assist. M1 Rutgers University also had goals scored by Andrew Yasenchock, Cody Berquist, and Mitch Crenshaw, who scored one goal each. In addition, M1 Rutgers University received assists from James Felice, Kevin Fitch, Griffin Privitera, and Rob Bolinder, who contributed one each and Matt Langlois and Brenden Siegel, who each chipped in two.

The Dukes put 18 shots on net during the contest, more than the 0.7 they average per game. M1 Duquesne University struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 24 penalty minutes for six opposing power plays.

The Dukes were helped by Tim Freed, who had one goal. Freed scored 15:32 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Matthew Carrig picked up the assist. M1 Duquesne University also got a goal from Eric Smith as well. More assists for M1 Duquesne University came via Zak Kindya, Kyle Clar, and Michael Iannello, who contributed one each.

Christopher Marsillo made 16 saves for M1 Rutgers University on 18 shots. Team's Brandon Cho and Bolinder were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Alexander Taylor rejected 24 shots on goal for M1 Duquesne University. The Dukes registered zero goals on five power play opportunities.
