M1 Rutgers University rips M1 West Chester University, 4-0

The M1 West Chester University Golden Rams had trouble finding ways to stop the M1 Rutgers University Scarlet Knights, which beat Golden Rams, 4-0.

CJ Maksut had two goals and one assist to lead M1 Rutgers University. Maksut scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 16:44 into the first period to make the score 2-0 M1 Rutgers University. The Scarlet Knights had gotten the advantage when M1 West Chester University's Joseph Opdenaker was sent off for high sticking. Kevin Fitch assisted on the tally. Maksut's next tally on the power play made the score 4-0 M1 Rutgers University with 11:21 left in the third period. Fitch picked up the assist.

M1 Rutgers University put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Golden Rams to score on any of their five power plays. The Scarlet Knights featured an improved defense during the game. M1 Rutgers University averages 2.9 goals allowed per game. The Scarlet Knights' offense was clicking better than usual and put 33 shots on goal during the game, better than the 3.3 shots per game they average.

M1 Rutgers University also got points from Brian Gnad, who also racked up one goal and one assist. M1 Rutgers University also got a goal from Mitch Crenshaw as well. Other players who recorded assists for M1 Rutgers University were Ned Richard and Wesley Austin, who each chipped in one.
