M1 Rutgers University outlasts M1 Lebanon Valley College, 4-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the M1 Rutgers University Scarlet Knights escaped with a 4-2 victory over the M1 Lebanon Valley College Flying Dutchmen.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Kevin Crehan's goal in the second period proved to be the difference maker.

M1 Rutgers University got the win on the strength of a great game by Brian Gnad, who had one goal and two assists. Gnad scored short handed 11:28 into the second period to make the score 3-1 M1 Rutgers University. The Scarlet Knights found themselves down a man on Tyler Rule's roughing. Matt Langlois picked up the assist.

M1 Lebanon Valley College's power play was ineffective against M1 Rutgers University's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

The Scarlet Knights kept the Flying Dutchmen's goalie busy throughout the game, and Joel Eisenhower made 30 saves on 34 shots.

M1 Rutgers University additionally got points from CJ Maksut, who also had one goal and one assist. M1 Rutgers University also got a goal from Jake Pyhel as well. Other players who recorded assists for M1 Rutgers University were Kevin Fitch, Cody Berquist, Brian Lilien, and Rob Bolinder, who contributed one each.

M1 Lebanon Valley College could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Flying Dutchmen average 6.0 goals per game. M1 Lebanon Valley College got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. By firing 42 shots on goal, the Flying Dutchmen exceeded the 21.0 shots they average per game this year.

The Flying Dutchmen ended with 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. For M1 Lebanon Valley College, Travis Acker was ejected from the game.
