Huntsville wins tough contest against Pensacola, 4-3

The Huntsville Havoc gutted out a close 4-3 win against the Pensacola Ice Flyers.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Adam Pawlick at 15:41 of the third period.

John McGinnis had a great game for Huntsville, netting two goals. McGinnis scored on the power play at 7:14 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Huntsville and again while 17:19 into the third to make the score 4-4.

The Havoc relied on a core group of players for most of their offense, as McGinnis, Jeff Jones and Dave Williams took 13 of the team's 20 shots.

Huntsville additionally got points from Williams, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Huntsville also got a goal from Scott Henegar as well. Other players who recorded assists for Huntsville were Justin Tateson, Stuart Stefan, Nolan Kaiser, Joshua Ranalli, and Dylan Nowakowski, who contributed one each.

Pensacola relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Pawlick, Charlie Adams and Joe Caveney took 18 of the team's 33 shots.

More assists for Pensacola came via Anthony Calabrese, Jeremy Gates, Steve Bergin, and Corey Banfield, who each chipped in one.

Kevin Genoe made 30 saves for Huntsville on 33 shots. The Havoc totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 2-for-5 on the power play. John McLean recorded 16 saves for the Ice Flyers. Pensacola totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play.
