The Pensacola Ice Flyers gutted out a close 3-2 win against the Peoria Rivermen.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Joe Caveney secured the win for Pensacola with a goal in the second period.

Caveney had two goals to lead the Ice Flyers to victory.

Pensacola could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game. With 40 shots on target during the contest, the Ice Flyers exceeded the 25.5 shots they average per game this year.

Pensacola additionally got points from Stephen Buco, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Pensacola were Adam Pawlick, who had two and Charlie Adams, Joseph Holka, and Corey Banfield, who each chipped in one.

John McLean recorded 35 saves for Pensacola. The Ice Flyers registered two goals on five power play opportunities. David Jacobson made 37 saves for Peoria on 40 shots. The Rivermen incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
