Brad Barone had a standout game with 37 saves, and the Louisiana IceGators beat the Columbus Cottonmouths 3-1. Louisiana pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 12 penalty minutes. The IceGators were led by Brad Bourke, who racked up one goal. Bourke scored 18:39 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Louisiana. Dylan Hood assisted on the tally. Louisiana stifled Columbus' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The IceGators got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. With 41 shots on target during the contest, Louisiana exceeded the 26.0 shots it averages per game this year. Louisiana also had goals scored by Travis Armstrong and Alex Hudson, who each put in one. More assists for Louisiana came via Nicholas Kuqali, Zac Frischmon, and Ben Kramer, who each chipped in one. The Cottonmouths' defensemen bolstered Columbus' offensive attack, as they bombarded Barone with 16 shots. The Cottonmouths' offense rang up 38 shots on the IceGators' net. Columbus was led by Al Graves, who scored the team's only goal. Graves scored 2:43 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Louisiana. Tyler Henry picked up the assist. Louisiana registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Brandon Jaeger made 38 saves for the Cottonmouths on 41 shots. Columbus incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
