Louisiana boosted by Courchaine's play in net, beats Columbus 3-1

Adam Courchaine stood on his head and made 25 saves to lead the Louisiana IceGators to a 3-1 victory over the Columbus Cottonmouths.

Louisiana was led by Jeremy Boyer, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Boyer scored 11:52 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Louisiana. Luke Sandler picked up the assist.

Louisiana additionally got points from Zac Frischmon, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Louisiana also got a goal from Jake Hauswirth as well. More assists for Louisiana came via Mike Kavanagh, John Daniels, and Alex Hudson, who contributed one each.

Columbus' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Louisiana power plays. The 26 shots that the Cottonmouths put on net surpassed Columbus' average of 21.6 shots per game this season.

The Cottonmouths were led by Chris Rial, who scored the team's only goal. Rial scored on the power play 10:50 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Louisiana. Columbus had taken the advantage when the IceGators' Kavanagh got sent off for tripping. Rusty Hafner provided the assist.

Louisiana incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Brandon Jaeger made 20 saves for the Cottonmouths on 23 shots. Columbus incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
