Kyle Gibbons had two goals and two assists to lead the Fayetteville FireAntz to a 4-1 victory over the Huntsville Havoc. Gibbons scored short handed at 1:06 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Fayetteville and again while on the power play 18:47 into the first to make the score 2-0 Fayetteville.Huntsville was stymied by Fayetteville's netminder Parker Van Buskirk, who stopped 29 shots during the victory. Van Buskirk certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.71 entering the contest. The FireAntz were often in penalty trouble, totaling five minors and two majors for 30 minutes in penalty time. Fayetteville surpassed its season average of 21.0 penalty minutes per game. The FireAntz excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Fayetteville relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Gibbons, Nick Lazorko and Josh McQuade took 16 of the team's 29 shots. Fayetteville additionally got points from Lazorko, who also had one goal and two assists and McQuade, who also racked up one goal and one assist.
