Pawlick's goals lift Pensacola to 6-3 victory over LouisianaPensacola Bay Center Fri, Feb 26, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
Behind a great game by Adam Pawlick, who had two goals, the Pensacola Ice Flyers defeated the Louisiana IceGators, 6-3. Pawlick scored on the power play at 10:18 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Pensacola and again while 16:47 into the first to make the score 4-0 Pensacola.Pensacola bested its season scoring average. The Ice Flyers average 3.0 goals per game. Pensacola took advantage of Louisiana's penalties, tallying two goals off of three power play opportunities. With 33 shots on target during the contest, the Ice Flyers exceeded the 25.1 shots they average per game this year. Pensacola also got points from Sean Rudy, who also registered one goal and one assist. Pensacola also had goals scored by Stephen Buco, Joe Caveney, and David Segal, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Pensacola were Ryan Kesti, Mike Krieg, Dean Moore, Josh Cousineau, Jeremy Gates, and Steve Bergin, who each chipped in one and Tyler Amburgey and Corey Banfield, who contributed two each. The IceGators forced Pensacola goalie John McLean to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. Louisiana was helped by Luke Sandler, who registered two goals. Sandler scored the first of his two goals at 19:06 into the first period to make the score 5-1 Pensacola. Jake Hauswirth provided the assist. Sandler's next tally made the score 5-3 Pensacola with 16:38 left in the third period. Jeremy Boyer assisted on the tally. The IceGators' starting goalie, Brad Barone, made 11 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Adam Courchaine, who stopped 16 shots. Louisiana totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play.
