Macon Mayhem survives Mississippi RiverKings comeback, wins 3-2Landers Center Fri, Feb 26, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
Mississippi RiverKings tried to dig itself out of a two-goal hole, but Macon Mayhem held on for a 3-2 victory. A goal by Mark Rivera put Macon Mayhem up 3-1 in the first period, but Mississippi RiverKings pulled to within one on Matt Harrington's tally 19:04 into the third period. Rivera had two goals to lead Macon Mayhem to victory. Macon Mayhem put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Mississippi RiverKings to score on any of its three power plays. The 24 shots that Macon Mayhem put on net surpassed Macon Mayhem's average of 21.8 shots per game this season. Macon Mayhem additionally got points from Jake Trask, who also finished with one goal and one assist. In addition, Macon Mayhem received assists from Shawn Skelly, who had three and Zach Josepher and Michael Wills, who contributed one each. Mississippi RiverKings' offense was clicking better than usual and put 33 shots on goal during the game, better than the 26.0 shots per game it averages.
