Fayetteville downs Peoria in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Fayetteville FireAntz's Nick Lazorko scored 4:11 into overtime to beat the Peoria Rivermen, 3-2 (OT).

Fayetteville was led by Lazorko, who grabbed one goal and one assist.

The FireAntz excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances.

Fayetteville also got points from Nicholas Rivait, who also had one goal and one assist and Josh McQuade, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Fayetteville were Derek Elliott, Kyle Gibbons, and Benjamin Rubin, who contributed one each.

Peoria racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with nine minors and one major for 23 minutes in penalty time. The Rivermen surpassed its season average of 19.0 penalty minutes per game.

Peoria was helped by Walker Wintoneak, who racked up one goal. Wintoneak scored 4:53 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Peoria. Brandon Greenside assisted on the tally. Chris Wilson also scored for Peoria. In addition, Peoria received assists from Connor P. Toomey and Steve Morra, who each chipped in one.

Fayetteville's Parker Van Buskirk stopped 25 shots out of the 27 that he faced. The FireAntz totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with nine minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play. Kyle Rank rejected 25 shots on goal for the Rivermen.
