The Fayetteville FireAntz relied on the sparkling performance of Parker Van Buskirk in net to grab a 4-1 win against the Peoria Rivermen.

Fayetteville's penalty kill excelled, as the FireAntz gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

Fayetteville was led by Joseph Manno, who registered one goal. Manno scored 6:55 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Fayetteville. Tayler Thompson provided the assist.

The FireAntz were often in penalty trouble, totaling seven minors and one major for 29 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 22.0 minutes per game Fayetteville had been spending in the box. The 34 shots that the FireAntz put on net surpassed Fayetteville's average of 27.7 shots per game this season.

Kyle Gibbons also scored for Fayetteville. In addition, Fayetteville received assists from Josh McQuade, who had two and Zach Carriveau and Bennett Schneider, who each chipped in one.

Peoria's offense operated below its season average. The Rivermen average 3.5 goals per game. Peoria put 39 shots on net during the contest, more than the 28.5 it averages per game.

The Rivermen were led by Adam Stuart, who scored the team's only goal. Stuart scored on the power play 10:20 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Fayetteville. Peoria earned a power play opportunity when Cole Wilson was put in the box for high sticking. Alec Hagaman picked up the assist.

Parker Van Buskirk made 38 saves for the FireAntz on 39 shots. Fayetteville registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Kyle Rank recorded 30 saves for the Rivermen. Peoria ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major.
